Fresh Start For Hens are looking for enthusiastic people that love chickens who would be interested in becoming volunteers. We especially need drivers, but we also need people who can offer a location in one of our target areas, listed below, to be a collection point to enable more people to collect their rescue hens locally.

We do not expect anyone to be available for all our rehomings, and realistically, we would need your help for the majority of the actual rehome day and a little bit of admin work about a week before if you are going to be helping. We would need people to be able to collect the allotted number of hens from the farm, or from the next closest collection point. There is no guarantee that all volunteers will come to the farm.

All hens that come to you, are reserved and donated for, so the likelihood of being left with uncollected hens is rare. There are a few areas where we just need drivers to transport hens and lend a hand.

It might be worth checking our collection points list for areas that are already covered because we are unlikely to need more volunteers in those areas. We are mainly wishing to open areas that are not yet covered to enable us to rehome even more hens.
